Overlooking the Pacific, perched on the slopes of Holualoa, Ola Hou Farm produces high-quality 100% Kona coffee.

Exploring our connection to the āina through coffee cultivation

Ola Hou Kona Coffee began with a story of resilience and renewal. In 2019, its founder Jeff had a motorcycle accident that nearly claimed his life. Surviving the ordeal gave him a profound sense of gratitude and a chance at a new beginning—an "ola hou," or new life. Having grown up farming, Jeff felt a deep pull to return to the land.

Feeling a strong connection to Hawaii’s culture and values, Jeff embraced the Hawaiian concept of mālama ‘āina—to care for and respect the land. This philosophy shapes every aspect of Ola Hou Kona Coffee, from nurturing the coffee plants to preserving the environment for future generations. Jeff’s vision is more than just growing coffee; it’s about cultivating a legacy of renewal, stewardship, and the aloha spirit, one bean at a time.

“I always wanted to farm but thought I had missed my opportunity. After getting a second chance at life, I had to make my dream happen—and Ola Hou Kona Coffee was born.”

— Jeff Leonard, Founder
